Our Journey to Low FODMAP

In an all-natural, chemical-free, wet extraction process, Lo-Fo Pantry’s world first low FODMAP flour is milled to remove FODMAPs from 100% GMO-free, premium Australian wheat.

Lo-Fo Pantry Plain Flour has been accredited by the FODMAP Friendly Program, an Australian government registered certification trademark. Our low FODMAP Plain Flour has been tested by a National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accredited food laboratory, to show that it falls within acceptable FODMAP thresholds for those following a Low FODMAP Diet. The Low FODMAP Diet is researched to be the best nutritional management strategy for people suffering digestive symptoms associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

Going Low FODMAP

FODMAPs (or Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols) are short-chain carbohydrates (found in many fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy foods and sweeteners) that can affect digestion.

Poorly absorbed FODMAPs can attract excessive water and fermentable bacteria that cause gas and bloating symptoms associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

To date, a Low FODMAP Diet has shown to be the most effective method of relieving IBS-type symptoms (For up to 85% of patients), with Australian research verified by international studies in the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Scandinavia.
